trip to
Mexico could be shorter than taking a coast to coast ride for
some of us.
We can choose either to take a coastal vacation or explore the Maya. Mexico has a variety of identities and geographical contrasts. It has desert landscapes, volcanoes with snowy peaks, ancient remains, glorious resorts, secluded beaches an abundance collection of vegetation and animals. If you are planning a trip you can consider a “do it yourself” kind of trip. You can either take a Mexico travel guide book or hire the services of a local guide as needed. The local cuisine is rich and diverse. Generally speaking, food is inexpensive. It has nothing to do with the kind of Mexican food we get at home by one of these chains. Do not hesitate to taste the food offered in stalls all over. Culinary art experts say the best food is served by Indian women in these places. Most of the attractions are outside Mexico City, but if you decide to visit the Capital, make sure you reserve half a day for a short trip to Teotihuacan pyramids and if you are in good shape go ahead and climb both pyramids of the sun and of the moon. There is also The Historic Center, down town area where you can walk around and visit Mexican historic sites or using the Turibus service, which will help you in getting around and reaching attractions throughout the city. If you are there on the weekend you should’t miss the San Angel, Saturday artists colorful bazaar, and if you are into arts don’t miss the Diego Rivera and Freida Kahlo Studio-Museum and Frida Kahlo Museum. Acapulco on the Pacific coast is the most well known beach resort and as such it is very touristed, and prices are accordingly. If you are fond of lying on the beach, watching romantic sunsets, taking some water sports and enjoying vibrant nightlife, this may be your place. Cancun, on the Yucatan Peninsula, lies on the other coast of the Caribbean Sea. It is also a quite popular vacation resorts which can offer a lot of attractions if you can afford. Visiting Cancun will enable you to reach some of the interesting Mayan archaeological sites in Yucatan and some other nature resorts such as watching the flamingos at Celestun and kayaking through the mangroves in Ria Lagartos. A 3-5 days tour in Chiapas will let you enjoy and feel the locals. it is a good choice either you are going to backpack or drive. It is also not very toured and as such accommodation prices. Chiapas is the southernmost state. The variety of landscapes and human diversity makes it so special. It’s an “all in one state”. You can find there Mayan Archaeological Sites out of which Palenque, lie within the jungles, is mostly recommended to visit. Nature beauty sites such as Aqua Azul waterfalls and Sumidero Canyon also worth a visit. Stay overnight in beautiful San Cristobal de Las Casas, and don’t skip the nearby San Juan village Chamula church. Avoid taking pictures if you are not looking for troubles.
