
Bikes riding is a healthy practice
Riding bike
became more of a trend, a kind of sport, a
way
to keep
fit and healthier lifestyle. It is not
anymore the kind
of bicycles we use to ride in our childhood.There
are now many kinds
for various purposes: city bicycles, dirt or mountain
bicycless, different weights, different sizes and
shapes,
wheels designs etc. All of these parameters should be carefully looked
into when considering to buy as each and every characteristic
influences
your
performances, achievements and pleasure,
and let's not forget
the range of prices… Cycling is
generally not
considered as a high risk activity. It is also known that riding, as a
physical
exercise, influences us for better health and increases the feeling of
well-being.
Many people who
are used
to jog or power walk and experience knee pains or joint cartilage wear
are recommended
to change their training practice to bicycle riding as it prevents the
load
on their
knees' joints and therefore relief pains. You can join a bikes club, or make you own rides with your friend or family at your own leisure but don't forget your helmet. It is highly
recommended
not to have heavy meal before going cycling and have just
something light such as coffee, energy bars, fruits, etc. Then, before
taking
the ride, you should warm up your muscles by doing some
stretches. Start
riding in low intensity level for at least 20
minutes. Beginners
should
start with short half hour rides at a time and increase the duration
gradually. When you finish
your ride you
have to take care of your muscles again and do some stretches again,
and if you
intend to ride your bikes again on the next day, take carbohydrates
and
proteins rich
food immediately in order to be able to perform.
